7/23/2023 0 Comments Jin rush funeral home![]() Sylvanas since becoming Warchief has remained exclusively on the front-lines. not so much, but it IS Garrosh, and the Horde did suffer because of this. The Warchief's position through-out WoW had taken more of a backseat role, a figurehead, due to being required to lead the Horde and keep the diplomacy side of leading such a large faction maintained, Thrall did this, Vol'jin did this. Which doesn't even feel necessary for the role they wanted her to fulfill in Legion. There had been hints that this wasn't the end of his story pre-Legion with the early beta files but instead they chose to kill him off to make Sylvanas the Warchief. But Trolls have typically only ever served the purpose of getting wiped out and he was the only Troll character to have been built-up(though most of his stated accomplishments were outside of the game). Vol'Jin had recieved some love in the recent expansions, granted. It felt more about shoe-horning Sylvanas. Varian's final moments were epic, it was great to watch, Vol'Jin's however. Heck, I'm not even sure who's currently acting as leader to the Orcs. We know that now Anduin is king, that much goes without out-right being shown in-game, but we still aren't sure who is leading the Trolls and there certainly isn't a developed Troll character to out-right point to. I get that by deciding to kill Varian they wanted to do the same for the Horde side to keep it equal, but Varian is/was a flushed out character and had a successor that was also very much a developed character to lead the narrative following his demise. To me the killing of Vol'Jin still feels to have been a really poor decision that wasn't well thought out. Outside of that, no one really trusts her to do much of anything else, and if they hadn't seen Vol'jin tell them the loa spirits recommended her, they likely wouldn't have accepted her. Sylvanas works as a war leader because she's willing to be brutal when it comes to winning, though not outright pissing all over everyone else like Garrosh did. The Forsaken aren't just the largest army, they've got a personal beef with the Legion for creating them in the first place, and are willing to create weapons that can wreck the Legion. War Crimes also suggests her family's home didn't get the best treatment, either.) (If you need a reminder why because her unliving body isn't enough, there's this place called the Dead Scar running through the homeland she was supposed to protect. I mean, I can't entirely blame him, but kind of like I can't entirely blame Sylvanas for being kind of cold and dead inside at this point. Genn really just went after her for personal reasons.
